Remembering Richard Moore at Gent-Wevelgem
Donation protected
Our dear friend Richard Moore—a giant in life, the cycling community, and sports journalism—passed away the day after Gent-Wevelgem in 2022. He had just returned home from the race, eager to record an episode of The Cycling Podcast to discuss a historic moment: the first time an African rider had won a Classics race like Gent-Wevelgem. Tragically, he never got the chance to hit record.
To honor Richard’s memory, we will paint his name on the course of Gent-Wevelgem, hoping it will be picked up by TV cameras and serve as a tribute. But we need your help to make it happen.
We’re raising €800 to purchase high-quality, highly visible spray paint that naturally fades after two weeks. Any funds raised beyond our goal will be donated to Tour de 4, the charity founded by Richard’s dear friend Sir Chris Hoy—a cause Richard would wholeheartedly have supported.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us keep Richard’s name and legacy alive in the sport he loved. Thank you!
