In Loving Memory of Steve Johnson

Dear Friends and Family, 

It is with heavy and broken hearts that we have created this Go Fund Me in memory of one of our dearest friends, Steven (“Steve”) Johnson, who unexpectedly passed away at the age of 32 on Saturday, August 7th.  What started off as a relaxing day at home ended tragically after Steve went into sudden and unexplained cardiac arrest, leaving behind his wife and high school sweetheart, Katie, who is due to deliver their first child, Mackenzie Eris, on August 25th. Steve’s untimely passing has his friends and family facing an unfathomable new reality of a world without him in it, but he left behind a close-knit community that are now ready to come together on his behalf to rally behind Katie and baby Mackenzie to provide them all our love and support in their time of need. 

Steve was an exceptionally talented artist, but for those who had the pleasure of meeting Steve know he was also a steadfast friend, a loyal brother, a loving son, a proud godfather, a devoted husband, and an adoring father to his fur baby, Penny, and future baby girl.  He was funny, passionate, creative, caring, selfless and so much more that made him easy to love.   

Highly creative and resourceful, Steve would undertake projects that provided us a small glimpse into his imagination and extraordinary talents. From designing logos and websites for companies to creating his own woodblock printing system and building his own Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-themed arcade machine, Steve’s ability to create seemed to be endless.  For his most recent project, Steve lovingly and meticulously renovated their home in preparation for the birth of baby Mackenzie. We are all heartbroken to have lost such an incredible son, brother, uncle, friend, and most importantly, husband and father, and it is now time to come together in his honor to help support his family when they need us the most. 

We are now reaching out to Steve’s community to humbly ask for help and support for Katie during this difficult time. Any amount is greatly appreciated, and every donation to this page will go towards making sure Katie has the financial support necessary to celebrate Steve’s life the way he deserves, manage the new financial stresses placed upon her, and help support baby Mackenzie in his absence.  During this heart-wrenching time for Katie, we hope these contributions will alleviate at least part of the financial strain so that Katie feels supported and loved as she navigates life as a new mother. Even if you are unable to contribute, please share this story with your friends, family, churches, workplaces, etc. so we can collectively do all we can to support the Johnson family.
