Skills Club - children with Autism
Donation protected
Skills Club Herefordshire is a not-for-profit group that runs a weekly Skills Club for young people from the ages of 8 to 19 with high functioning Autism.
We aim to teach our young people the valuable skills they need to live as independently as possible upon transition to adulthood; cooking, money management, social skills, team working...things we take for granted.
With targeted support now, there is an increased liklihood that our young people WILL be able to live almost completely independently during adulthood. This reduces reliance on Benefits and the need for Support staff and enables people with Autism to be a vaulable part of the Community in which they live.
We do not receive any funding from the Local Authority and are only able to continue to run this service by fundraising.
There is an ever growing demand for our club as more young people are referred from professionals who recognise the importance of such a club.
Please support us to continue and extend this provision so that we can meet the needs of as many young people with Autism as possible.
