Supporting Breast Cancer Research and Awareness
Hey Everyone, I'm Brodie Carton and I have some exciting news!
On the 13th of July I will be shaving my head to raise money to support Breast Cancer Network Australia. Over the past 12 months, I have grown my hair out. This has lead to being known by some very funky nicknames; Sheep, mophead, furball, Brian May... are just some of the few (the list goes on). This had been to fulfil a very big goal of mine, to support Breast Cancer Research and Awareness.
Each year, an average of 2.3 million people are diagnosed with breast cancer. It is also the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. Breast cancer was also responsible in the deaths of 670 000 people globally in 2022.
Why should YOU donate?
Donations can help fund advancements in treatment, early detection and prevention. By fundraising, you can contribute to saving lives and improving the quality of life for those affected by breast cancer.
I also hope to create a tradition for Ladies Day each year at the Wynnum Vikings; For brave women to put their hands up every year to shave their heads and fundraise for this amazing cause.
