Support Hector and Jessica's Recovery Journey

My name is Yi-Hsiu Yeh, an educator and architect in Los Angeles. I am starting this GoFundMe for Hector Solis and Jessica Turner, who lost everything to the fire in Altadena on 01/07/2025.

I have known Hector and Jessica for 17 years since started teaching at Woodbury University, and Hector was my student and teaching assistant. The couple became my dear friends over the years after their graduation. Hector has been a serious builder/artisan and has become a dear friend, confidant, archivist, and colleague to many of his mentors, including the late Dean Norman Millar, Professor Louis Molina and Professor Mary-Ann Ray & the late Professor Robert Mangurian. Jessica has been working in the fashion industry and is the wise and supportive partner, and they have worked hard together to build their life in Altadena.

I know Hector and Jessica would never ask for help themselves but would generously help others if they had not been in this situation. That's why I am asking for your donation on their behalf.

Due to their home's proximity to the fire's origin, they had to evacuate so quickly that they did not take anything with them. They lost all their tools and living necessities. These donations will go towards supporting them in getting back on their feet — a temporary place to stay, food and clothing, and some tools to resume work. Whatever you can give helps.
