Team to US Curling Championships

Please help send our team to the 2016 USA Curling Junior Women's National Championships starting January 16 in Willmar, Minnesota!

We are a  junior women's curling team of four 13-15 year-old girls from Massachusetts and New Hampshire who are competing as a team in our first national juniors championship.  

On December 29, our team won our final game in our regional junior playdowns and secured a spot as one of the  top 10 junior women's teams from across the USA competing in the 2016 Junior Nationals.   We leave on JANUARY 15, 2016, to fly to Minnesota!

Now we need to figure out how to fund our travel. As we are a new team in our first year of competition*, we don't have any corporate sponsors or funding sources beyond our families.

We expect it will cost us about $10,000 to fly our 4 team members and their 4 parent chaperones (one of whom is our coach) from New England to Minnesota and house/feed us all for the 9 days we need to be out there.    It looks like it will break down like this:

- $4,300 - hotel (the Holiday Inn Express)
- $2,800 - airfare
- $1,000 - food for 8 people for 8 days
- $800 - 2 rental cars to transport our team and gear
- $300 - various other fees

Plus we'll have processing fees by GoFundMe (8% of the total).  This is our best guess at the moment.  Actual costs could be higher or lower.

Attending these National Championships is a huge opportunity for us to play at a competitive level. We are excited to play against some of the best junior women's teams in the USA!

Please help us gain this experience!  Any donations you can make will be greatly appreciated - and we'll keep you up to date both here and on our Facebook page .  The Junior Nationals games will be live streamed, too, so you will be able to watch us in Minnesota.

* While this is our first year together as a team, we have each been curling for 5-8 years and one of us (Rebecca) was an Alternate on a Nationals team last year and three of us were in the regional playdowns last year as part of another team.
