The Beau Run

As most of you are aware our son, Beau Jones died prematurely on 23rd June 2024. I was 21 weeks into the pregnancy when Beau was born and he sadly died 30 minutes later. Losing a child is the worst thing that can happen to any parent…therefore in Beau’s memory we are organising a charity event , “The Beau Run” to raise money for the 4Louis baby loss and bereavement charity and the bereavement Delivery Suit at the Royal Bolton Hospital.

This charity is close to both mine, Ben’s, and our family’s hearts as the support, care, treatment and equipment used during the birth, death & memory making of our son Beau wouldn’t have been available if it wasn’t for charities like 4Louis and many others. Therefore, raising money for 4Louis and the bereavement delivery suite at the Royal Bolton Hospital is something we would like to do to give back to them as a way of saying thank you.

We are hoping to raise enough money to help Bolton Hospital convert one of the suites into a high risk bereavement suite. This will mean mothers who have been to theatre or had any form of anaesthetics can start their memory making in the bereavement suite instead of being transferred around the the hospital and loosing this precious time with their baby and family . This would help relieve unnecessary trauma within an already traumatic situation. We also hope that we can bring other bereaved families together on one day to make your stories feel seen and heard with others, whether that be miscarriage, neo natal death, still born, abortion, IVF failure and any baby trauma.

Therefore on Saturday 12th October ( Baby loss awareness week) I will be running my first ever 5k/10k in aid of 4louis chatity and to help raise money for the compassionate delivery suit at Royal Bolton Hospital . Beau’s Run will be held at Leverhulme Parkrun and we would love as many people to come along and join us on this.
