Whitney's LBJ Campaign School Tuition Fundraiser

Dear Activists, World Changers, and Friends,
My name is Whitney Stuard and I am a full-time MD/Ph.D. student actively involved in advocacy and public policy in medicine. I hope as a future physician-scientist I can use my knowledge to help advocate for a compassionate, patient-centered healthcare system.
As we all know healthcare is tied to opportunity, economic well-being, and quality of life. When health inequities exist, large populations are put at risk solely because they either can’t access healthcare or biases exist that hinder their ability to obtain it. COVID-19 has both united healthcare providers and highlighted the inability for the system to provide equal services to all based on either biases or astronomical healthcare costs. These gaps in our system are what drove me to want to become more involved in the policy and politics surrounding medicine. However, to be able to accomplish this I know I will have to learn the skills necessary to be part of the political arena. As many of you may know women are traditionally underrepresented in the political arena. Therefore, I applied to the LBJ Women’s Campaign School and was honored to be admitted as a member of their third cohort of students.
Now, I am fundraising for the tuition to be able to participate in the Women’s Campaign School at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. The LBJ Women's Campaign School is a non-partisan, hands-on, leadership training for women to provide them with the tools to have their voices heard. The program involves both in-person and virtual components that will allow me to work and learn from the nation’s leading political experts and campaign practitioners. Through these classes and activities, I hope to gain the foundational knowledge to be able to successfully run for office.
I am asking for your support in reaching my goal of raising $1750 by April 15th, 2022. Your contributions will allow me to pursue my goal of public service, as I one day hope to become a political leader in the future of medicine. Every contribution to this campaign will allow me the ability to bring change to our healthcare system in the future.
