For as long as I can remember, 34 years to be exact, there's been a disconnect between the way I see myself and how the world perceives me. Ultimately, FFS is about living in harmony with myself. It's a chance to finally feel comfortable in my own skin and move through the world with greater self-assurance.

Here's a breakdown you can use to explain how the funds will be used:

* Surgical fees: This is the main cost associated with facial feminization surgery (FFS). The specific procedures I plan to undergo, are tracheal shave, brow and forehead reconstruction, hairline re-alignment, jaw line shave and repositioning, cheek fat injection and neck liposuction. This will influence the overall cost.

* Hospital or surgical facility fees: There are fees for the operating room.

* Anesthesia fees: Anesthesia is typically billed separately from the surgeon's fees.

* Pre-operative medications: This may include medications I'll need to take before surgery to prepare me for the procedure, mainly pain medication post op as well.

* Post-operative medications: I'll likely need pain medication and other medications to help me recover after surgery.

* Additional costs: There may be other unforeseen costs, such as follow-up appointments, lab tests, or revisions.
