YWAM Medical DTS Australia

Hey guys, I'm really excited to share that I have been accepted to a Discipleship Training School (DTS) at an organisation called Youth With a Mission (YWAM) at one of their bases in Australia. YWAM is one of the largest missions organisations in the world, having workers in almost every nation.

This programme will consist of 2 parts which overall equate to 5 months. For the first part of the school I will be undergoing classroom training in Townsville, a city located in North Queensland. I’ll be learning what it means to be a missionary and grow in my relationship with God as well as also being trained in medical care and assistance.

The second part of this mission school will be focused on outreach and supporting communities both spiritually and medically. This will mainly be based in Papa New Guinea, an island in the Pacific, where I will be on board a medical ship (see photo) sent out from Townsville. This mobile hospital will treat those in need of support.

So why am I doing this?

In the last year, God has really moved in my life, many of you know my adoption story and have seen the video of my story recorded by my Church. This last year God has really been healing my past and calling me to trust him and follow him especially as my father which is something I struggled to view him as. This is part of the reason for why I have decided to do a mission school, to grow the work that God has done in me recently.

Medical work and supporting communities is something that God has put on my heart. On this YWAM DTS, we will equip others in rural communities and spend three months sharing the love of Jesus, healing the sick and setting people free from their spiritual bondage as well as specifically providing medical support for those in need of support.

I have been working part time jobs during my studies to try and fund this; all funds raised will go towards the training I will receive to support others as well covering outreach costs and materials needed.
