Support for Jordan coming home

Donation protected
Hi I’m Shayla and I am fundraising for my 25 year old son Jordan.
On July 27th our worlds changed. Jordan has been a keen biker most of his life and even through all the troubles with autism and social anxiety he worked hard to get his full license and motorbike. He would save everything he earned from working at the British Heart Foundation and Pilgrims Hospice to fund his passion.
On the 27th July Jordan spent the morning perfecting everything on his motorbike ready for a planned road trip and then 15 minuets after leaving the garage he had a serious accident.
The police knocked at my door and told me he was critical and was air lifted to London, they needed to get me there.
Jordan was not expected to make it.
He suffered extensive injuries to his left leg, which has needed 6 operations to date to reconstruct fully, he has had 5cm removed from his bone. He has brain injuries and a fractured skull, his eye sight is damaged and he now has double vision and the inability to move his right eye correctly. He suffered 6 broken ribs, a punctured lung, 3 broken vertebrae and broken shoulder blade.
Jordan was in intensive care for 6 weeks, he is now on a trauma ward in London starting his rehabilitation and recovery. Jordan’s road to recovery is going to be many months/years, he will need to learn to walk again, speech therapy and psychological support, amongst other things.
I am in complete awe of Jordan and his sheer determination to pull through, the fact he is still with us is a miracle.
I have had so many people asking what they can do to help us, is there anything we need? Until now I have always said no as I was getting financial support to remain in London with Jordan and I did not have to worry about leaving his side, for which I will be forever grateful.
However….
Before the accident Jordan had been speaking of decorating his room.
Part of his rehabilitation will be interaction with his friends and family. Due to the extent of injuries and ongoing operations that will be needed, he won’t be able to go anywhere for a long time.
I am wanting to decorate his room for his return, making it a clean sterile environment. Although a hospital bed will be provided, Jordan would love to sleep in a normal bed again, this would however need to be electric to help with his mobility.
Jordan’s room is going to be the centre around his rehabilitation and needs to be a comfortable place for friends and family to sit and spend time with Jordan. He also needs a dehumidifier to protect his lungs from any damp and risk of further infections.
Anyone that knows Jordan knows that he is the kindest of souls and would do anything for anyone. Jordan doesn’t need any added worry about finances, so once his room is complete it would
be nice to give Jordan some money to support him through this awful time.
So what I am saying is, anyone that has offered that support and wants to help, if you could make a small donation towards obtaining the goal I would be so grateful.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
