Hi my name is Cynthia,
Founder of The Chinue X Project, Inc. (TCXPI)
The Chinue X Project, Inc Afrocentric Educational Resource Service, is birthed out of my vision to see ALL children receive education that is inclusive of who they are in society and the world.
As a Black child in the Oakland, California Public School System, I wondered why there were so few Black heroes/sheroes in our textbooks that looked like me. Was it true what I had been taught by those textbooks?
"Were my ancestors an uncivilized people, who needed to be "saved" by missionaries?" Did we not have a Story to tell? Did we not have a history before enslavement?
Once I graduated from high school and begin my matriculation in higher education, (a Bachelors in Africana Studies ('08) and a Masters in Equity and Social Justice in Education ('13) San Francisco State University) I realized that all that I had learned was not the TRUTH of my heritage and culture. Yes my Black Ancestors existed before enslavement! Yes my Black Ancestors were major contributors to world and human civilization?
I am seeking funding to establish and maintain The Chinue X Project, Inc. (TCXPI) Afrocentric Educational Resource Service in Oakland, California.
My goal is to raise $5,000.00 which would cover the following; Marketing/Rental Fees, Business Fees/Taxes, Program Supplies/Laptops, Travel, Events, and Misc. /Other Expenses.
I have created TCXPI Afrocentric Educational Resource Service in the Oakland community to ensure that our future leaders learn that their Heritage is rich in history, a history filled with contributions to world and human civilization.
Your contributions will be greatly appreciated and will go towards creating projects that will enhance the lives of our children and youth.
