I’m Keith, and I never imagined I would be in a position where I had to ask for this kind of help. I live with Multiple Sclerosis, and at the end of June I lost my job after a flare-up. I was working as a contractor, so I was let go without explanation, and since then everything has felt like it has piled up at once. The medications I take for MS caused severe dental problems, and I’ve had all of my teeth removed. Now I need dentures, which cost $4600, but I simply can’t afford them right now. I also need an MRI before the MS clinic will see me, and I still don’t even know what that will cost. On top of that, I’m struggling to afford the medications I need to manage my condition.
I’m a US Coast Guard veteran and a parent to three kids, ages 7, 9, and 10, and right now I’m doing everything I can to hold things together for my family. I’ve applied for every kind of assistance I can find, but those programs take time, and we need help now. Not having teeth has made this even harder because I feel embarrassed and vulnerable during job interviews, and I know it affects the way I speak and present myself. Your support will help me get dentures, pay for my MRI, cover essential medications, and help my family with basic needs while we wait for assistance and I work to get back on my feet. If you’re able to give or share this fundraiser, I would be deeply grateful for any support during this incredibly difficult time.
