What they care about

I am a father of 4 who seeks to preserve heritage and culture through historical accuracy, and building something that will be remembered for generations.

Grýtt Fjall is more than a Viking village—it is a vision born from the struggles of my own life. I want to build a living piece of history where people can step away from the modern world and experience our ancestors’ culture, craftsmanship, stories, and traditions firsthand. A place where children can learn, families can gather, artisans can create, and history is something you can see, touch, and experience—not simply read about in a book. At its heart, Grýtt Fjall is about preserving heritage and keeping our cultural roots alive for future generations. It is about education, community, opportunity, and creating something meaningful that can be shared with others. There is also a deeply personal and spiritual reason I feel called to build this place. The struggles and hardships I have faced throughout my life have shaped me, and instead of allowing them to define me, I want to turn them into something powerful, that may help others find their way—a place built with purpose, perseverance, and meaning, that shows what happens when you never give up on yourself. I am not asking people to simply give money toward a dream. I am asking you to become part of building something that can outlive all of us. If you believe in preserving history, strengthening community, educating future generations, and creating something truly meaningful, I invite you to help me bring Grýtt Fjall to life. Every donation is used to breathe life into this project, one piece of wood, carving, and building at a time.
