I am reaching out for help as I face one of the most difficult times in my life. After working for 30 months at Amazon Fresh, I lost my job when I was attacked twice at work. Fearing for my safety, I left before a third incident could happen, and as a result, I was fired. Since then, the company has gone out of business, leaving me without the possibility of returning or seeking support from my former employer. Now, I am struggling to cover my most basic needs. I am 61 years old and live with both mental and physical disabilities, which makes finding new work especially challenging. I am currently fighting eviction due to non-payment of rent, and I am worried about how I will afford groceries and utilities while I search for a new job. Every day is a challenge, but I am doing my best to stay hopeful and keep moving forward. The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward groceries and utilities, helping me maintain some stability and dignity during this uncertain time. My name is Thomas, and I am 60 years old, disabled, and currently unemployed. I have always worked hard and taken pride in being reliable and dedicated to my job. Since 1981, I have been part of the workforce, doing my best to provide for myself and meet my responsibilities. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, I am now facing a difficult time. I lost my most recent job just 25 days before I would have vested in my pension, after working there for 10 years. It was a tough blow, especially since I was asked to come in and work a few hours even though they knew they were going to let me go. Since then, I have been actively looking for work, but my disability has made the search even more challenging. Right now, I am struggling to keep up with my back rent and my LA DWP bill. The stress of possibly losing my home and having my utilities shut off has been overwhelming. I am doing everything I can to find employment and get back on my feet, but I need some help to get through this tough period. Asking for help is not easy for me. I have always tried to handle things on my own, but I have reached a point where I need to reach out to my community.
