Anything anyone can do is awesome. I am a 38-year-old female with blood and bone cancer. The only help I'm getting is from my mom and brother, and I know I'm causing them stress by needing their help. I know they both would do anything for me. I just feel bad because I can't find work because of treatment. I'm sick the first 3 or 4 days after treatment, and no one wants to hire someone who can only work certain days. I filled out for social security, but haven't heard anything from them. I applied in March and was told I would be approved with my diagnosis, but it's taking forever. I have tried to talk to my doctors at Tampa General and was told a social worker there should have help for me, but I was told I would be contacted and haven't heard anything. I only get 78 bucks in food stamps, and that doesn't even feed me for a month. I just want to be able to help myself and take the pressure off them. My brother has a 12-year-old who he should only have to worry about. My mom gets one check a month of $900, and she shouldn't have to sit broke because of me. I'm so depressed because of all this. I'm ready to stop treatment so I can go back to work, but that's also not fair to my mom and brother, who are doing everything for me. I'm so lost on what to do next.
Two months ago, my life changed when I was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, I’ve been receiving weekly treatments, and the days after each session are especially tough—I’m often too sick to work. My mom and twin brother have been incredible, doing everything they can to help me through this journey. Even with their support, the financial strain from weekly copays, medication costs, and trying to eat healthy is overwhelming. I’ve applied for social security and food assistance, but I’m still waiting to hear back. The food assistance I received was helpful, but it’s not enough to cover my needs. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward my weekly copays, medication, and healthy food while I undergo treatment. Your support will help relieve some of the financial stress and allow me to focus on healing and recovery. I appreciate anything anyone can do to help. Your kindness and generosity will be a blessing to my family and myself during this difficult time. Thank you for considering supporting my journey.
