<div>Storyline
</div>
<div>At an intimate women’s retreat for trauma survivors, cynical Tilde forms a sudden, powerful romance with the emotionally scarred Emma, a connection that opens the door to healing beyond measure. But the reveal of a dark secret of Tilde's forces the entire sisterhood into a test where patriarchal judgment faces intuition.

</div>
<div>Vision
</div>
<div>What about healing? There are countless stories about sexual abuse and violence, but very few about those who actually recover completely from trauma. What does it take to fully mend? What must you face? The answers are as many as there are survivors, but the themes remain universal. Woven with real-life stories, this fiction is crafted so that any woman can recognize herself in it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is a romantic drama exploring the depths of healing. And it has a happy ending—because this film’s ultimate purpose is to bring hope.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While millions of women suffer from the aftermath of abuse, recovery is possible under the right circumstances. But it is not an easy path.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In this film, I dare to expose the unthinkable as a catalyst for healing, delving into a spiritual perspective where we must find the courage to endure the darkest pain, while simultaneously surrendering to something divine—offering the idea that a path toward inner peace is possible.
</div>
<div>Ultimately, I unfold a story that culminates in a crucible where the participants need to face their own patriarchal judgment and decide whether to adhere to those conditioned patterns or to surrender to their own intuition.
</div>
<div>In essence, this film stands on three core pillars: an intimate romance rooted in real-life survival, a fierce confrontation with societal conditioning, and a profound journey toward emotional transformation through the liberating grace of sisterhood.
</div>

<div>Do you want to support Womb in the making? I need all the help I can get to bring this film to life and make it available to as many people as possible.
</div>
<div>If you become a donor, your name can be included in the closing credits if you wish.

</div>
<div>We just finished shooting and are now entering the post-production phase: editing, color grading, sound mixing, composing music, recording ADR, and preparing for distribution.
</div>
<div>So there’s still a lot to do :)

<div>"Amanda is an artist and yoga teacher who has spent her life creating professional and purposeful performances. She worked actively as a founder of Cie Le Cheptel Aleikoum and lived in France for 18 years. Now she is back in her homeland of Sweden, transforming her stage experience into filmmaking. Her style is raw and vulnerable, always with a touch of humor, generating curiosity and good vibes."

<div><strong>The Last Summer Before Smartphones</strong> unfolds over the last Saturday in August 2006, following Cass, a recent college graduate whose plans to leave her Massachusetts hometown have quietly fallen apart. As she drifts through the day with her camcorder—between old friends, the children she babysits, her family, and the local movie theater where she grew up—the film gradually widens into a portrait of an entire community. Around her, children cling to the last days of summer, adults reckon with the lives they've built, and older generations confront the distance between memory and reality.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>My intention with The Last Summer Before Smartphones is to tell a story about people at different stages of life navigating the space between who they thought they would become and who they are becoming. Through a single day in one town, the film explores the hopes, disappointments, anxieties, and possibilities that connect children, young adults, parents, and grandparents, suggesting that the questions we ask ourselves about who we are and who we want to become never really disappear. At the same time, I wanted to capture a specific moment in recent history: a world that sits in an unusual space between memory and nostalgia. Twenty years later, 2006 still feels familiar enough to recognize but distant enough to reveal how profoundly everyday life, communities, and the way we experience time have changed.

<div><strong>This is an independent short film made with a small local cast and crew. </strong>Funding will directly support cast and crew pay, locations, production design, costumes, sound, transportation, meals, music, and post-production, allowing us to faithfully recreate the world in the summer of 2006.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Every contribution helps</strong> us give this story the care and attention it deserves. Our goal is to create a film about the hopes, disappointments, and possibilities that connect people at every stage of life, and to capture a moment in recent history that already feels both familiar and impossibly distant.
