Cozy Cats Sanctuary Honoring Chris
You can make a difference by donating today to Cozy Cats n Kittens, Inc..
We are inspired and motivated to do more for our community cats due to the loving example of Chris Arsenault of Long Island who tragically died along with 158 of his cats 2 weeks ago.
We are meeting monthly as a committee and everyone is invited to attend! Our next meeting is May 18th at 2:00 pm at the Hornell Moose Club. Our first organizational meeting was 4/13 with 19 people attending. We hope to get more traction with advertising for this cause.
The sanctuary will be created within a 15 minute drive of Hornell ( site not yet found). It will all depend on our fundraising efforts. We have many fundraising ideas in the works and we need volunteers for those also!
The sanctuary will be composed of a large building and a huge catio built off of it. We don’t want free roam cats due to the dangers to them, as well as the complaints by neighbors. The sanctuary will be for ferals and strays. If there are cats deemed adoptable, they may be moved over to the main rescue site and adopted to a home.
We have spoken to NYS Ags and Markets representative and we are able to meet the state requirements to build and run this sanctuary. It will be under the umbrella of Cozy Cats n Kittens, Inc, a 501c3 public charity, sanctioned by the federal and NYS authorities.
Our dream is to make some kind of a positive development from the tragedy that has honestly devastated many. Hearts are broken and this feels like the next right step.
We are in no way related to Happy Cat Sanctuary in Long Island or are we involved with the care of any of the cats involved there.
We changed the name of the sanctuary for NOW due to being accused of scamming by disgusting people. We will not fold. We will m as he this happen.
