Chai Five For Peace - Help Refugees Worldwide!
Hello everybody,
I am here to raise money for my Bar Mitzvah project. There are so many charities I could have raised money for, but these charities stood out. The goal of my Bar Mitzvah is not just to take the journey to Jewish adulthood, but to help the people and the world around me.
This idea sparked when I first learned about the history of my great-grandparents. Even though I never got to meet them, they always inspired me. My great-grandparents were Holocaust survivors, and that is something I could never imagine having to endure. They were also refugees who came to the United States with nothing. Fast forwarding to today...I've been really disturbed by the events in Israel on October 7th, and the war in Gaza that has affected so many people's lives. The charities below support refugees around the world, including Israel and Palestine. They also spread peace and help those who are facing many challenges.
I'm asking for something from you, but I'm also asking for something of myself. To inspire you to donate, I am going to run five separate 5k races in the span of a few weeks. I am calling this the "Chai Five," with "Chai" meaning "Life" in Hebrew. I promise to run as hard as I can if you will donate as much as you can!
Sometimes we feel like we can't do anything, but this is one small step to making the world a better place.
