Running NB Half Marathon for Lighthouse Animal Shelter
Hi friends and animal lovers,
This year, myself along with several other Lighthouse volunteers will be running the New Bedford Half Marathon to raise funds for Lighthouse Animal Shelter, the amazing organization located in New Bedford that has rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed so many dogs in our local south coast community. Every year in March, the shelter volunteers and K9 residents have watched this race go right by the shelter at the 3-mile mark on Hathaway Road, and this year the dogs will surely be barking as they watch some of their friends run by their window on March 16th, raising money to buy them more bones.
Every mile we run will be for these animals who rely on the shelter's care and compassion. With your support, we can help provide the food, medical care, linens, toys, and training these dogs and cats need to thrive while they await loving homes in our community. Every donation makes a huge difference. For additional information about the shelter and the animals currently available for adoption:

I will be updating this page every week with new pictures of the shelter animals you will be directly supporting - as well as photos from the race and a final update when we finish.
For more pictures and videos please check out the social media channels linked above, and if you are a spectator this year, keep an eye out for runners in Lighthouse Animal Shelter shirts! Thank you for your generosity and support.
Together, we can help more animals find their forever homes.
Update 2/2/2025
Thank you to everyone who has donated in the first day of fundraising. Not many of the dogs wanted to be outside this morning in the chilly temperatures but a few did stay still long enough to grab their picture:

Antley
We saw a few runners go by the shelter today who must be training for the big race on March 16th which got Antley very excited! Thank you for the support and please share the fundraiser with friends, family, and any animal lover in your life.
