Limb Kind Foundation Inc

Our names are Anjli Patel, Lavanya Purwar, Ethan Gomes, and Diya Agarwal and we are Youth Ambassadors of the Limb Kind Foundation. This is a global organization committed to helping children with limb loss. We are asking for donations to sponsor a model for their fifth annual Show Your Shine adaptive runway event.

Last I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Ethiopia with the Limb Kind organization to help make prosthetics for children and young adults suffering from limb difference. We made more than 40 prosthetics for more than 40 people just under 5 days and changes countless lives for the better. The trip changed my life.

This year, I've been invited to join the team as they travel to Kenya to continue this amazing effort. So for my birthday month, I'm asking my community to help me as I raise money for their trip to Kenya in March. We plan to exceed Ethiopia's effort with more than 50 limbs on standby. As you can imagine, this is no small feat and will require maximum effort from all of us. That said, I'm asking everyone I know to give what you can to help. 100% of these funds will go to the trip.

Hi everyone! In November, I will be joining The Limb Kind Foundation on their mission trip to Ethiopia to provide prostheses to children with limb loss. I'll be working alongside fellow PT's, prosthetists and mentors to help with the delivery and use of these new prothetics. I joined Limb Kind this past October on a trip to Ethiopia. It touched my heart to finally feel connected to kids in another country again, let alone kids who I can relate to physically and emotionally. It was life-changing to be an Amputee mentor and assist with providing prostheses to kids in order for them to be able to walk and attend school.

In July, I have the opportunity to travel with this amazing organization to Sri Lanka to help mentor and provide prostheses for more kiddos in need at Centre for Handicapped. I am beyond blessed to be part of another team consisting of prosthetists, physical therapists, amputee mentors, and a very talented photographer. I cannot wait to see what we will all experience as this will be Limb Kind's first trip to the country of Sri Lanka.

Hello, I’m Indi Hewavita. I am a husband to a beautiful wife, a father of four children, prosthetist orthotist, and a wanna-be farmer. I grew up in Sri Lanka during a time of upheaval and civil war. I saw the deep wounds that war and instability can leave behind in it’s wake. Sri Lankans are a resilient people. Even in the most difficult of times they smile, show kindness and hospitality. Now, living far away from that tumultuous past, I have been given an opportunity to serve the most vulnerable of Sri Lanka’s people…her children with limb loss.

This summer, I will be traveling to Sri Lanka as a volunteer with Limb Kind Foundation, an incredible organization dedicated to serving children with limb loss all around the world. As a prosthetists orthotist, I am humbled and grateful for this opportunity to be able to design and fabricate prosthetic limbs for Sri Lankan youth living with limb loss and limb difference.

I am honored to announce I will be joining the LimbKind Foundation team in Sri Lanka in July 2023 at the Centre for the Handicapped. We will be doing what we all love- providing less fortunate children with custom prostheses free of cost.
