- Logan Roth is fundraisingRight now, one in three people around the world lack access to safe drinking water, and one in ten still live without even basic drinking water services. This is a serious issue that many people unfortunately face on a daily basis. Due to the lack of access to clean water, many communities are at risk of easily preventable diseases.
A long-term goal of mine has been to raise enough money to build at least one well for those without access to clean water. Fortunately, the Water Wells for Africa Foundation has made a remarkable impact, building over 450 wells since 1996. These wells are not only cost-effective but also designed to be sustainable, ensuring that local communities can maintain them for years to come. The foundation primarily builds wells in rural villages across Malawi but has also constructed wells for schools and hygienic facilities for girls. Each well costs about $9,000, providing clean water to 500 people. That means for just $18, you can provide a person with life-saving access to clean water—a gift that keeps giving for years to come.
Additionally, for every $20 donated, my community and I will clean 2 pounds of trash from public spaces and roadsides, helping to reduce pollution and create healthier environments for communities. I’ll be sharing the progress of our cleanup efforts on my social media here, so you can see how your contribution is making a real difference.1 supporter
About Water Wells for Africa
WWFA supports rural African community development by providing sustainable water sources, hygiene education, and generally reducing health risks associated with contaminated water. WWFA envisions a majority of rural African communities having WWFA water wells which provide a robust quality of life where people are: 1) free of waterborne diseases; 2) able to construct homes, schools, and other buildings; 3) able to spend more quality time as families; 4) able to grow gardens and create businesses; and 4) students are able to complete their full education.
