Hi, I'm Rebekah Wiley, and I'm raising funds for LiveOnNY, an organization dedicated to saving lives through the power of organ, eye, and tissue donation. Their mission is to provide comfort and strengthen legacies, ensuring that the impact of donation reaches its full potential in our community. I’m sharing a deeply personal story and an incredible opportunity I have to honor my late brother, Isaac, and support a cause that has forever changed my life — LiveOn NY.
In October of last year, our family faced the unimaginable — the sudden and heartbreaking loss of my younger brother, Isaac. He was full of energy, light, and life, and at just 30 years old, a newlywed and expectant father, he had recently discovered a love for running. He would often call me to talk about his progress, complain (a little) about shin splints, ask for stretching tips, and proudly boast about getting faster and stronger each week.
After his accident, we were guided through an incredibly difficult time by the compassionate team at Tennessee Donation Services (he was living in Nashville at the time). As we faced the end of Isaac’s life, they stood beside us with unwavering care, kindness, and dignity. Together, we made the decision to donate his organs — a choice that has brought our family a sense of peace, purpose, and pride amidst profound grief. Knowing that Isaac’s legacy lives on through the lives he helped save has given us a light in the darkest of times.
This year, I’ve been given the honor of running the TCS New York City Marathon on November 2nd as part of Team LiveOn NY. I am running in Isaac’s memory — to carry forward the goal he never had the chance to complete. Every step I take will be in honor of his spirit, his determination, and the gift of life he gave to others.
To support this journey, I’m raising funds for LiveOn NY, an organization that not only supports donor families but also advocates for organ and tissue donation and saves countless lives every year. Your donation will help them continue their mission and support other families like ours during life’s most difficult moments.
